Inter-School Games at Otane

A visit was paid by the children -of the Waipawa Priniary School on Friday, wheu two games of bdsketbiaJl and one of football wero played with the local school teams, Otauo wiuiung all three. In basketball tho Otane A girls' team won by 21 to 3 and the B girls' team by 27 to 0. The football match was very closely contestod, Otane winning by six points to three although a draw would have been a better indicafion of the game. The Waipawa forwards wero very good, sccuring the ball in evory scrum, but the back division was too slow. Tho Otane baclcs were much better and were on top all the timo. On Saturdiiy the senior Eugby teaxn was too good for Tikokino, winning by 28 points to nil. The juniors were defeated by Porangahau by 14 points to nil. The local basketball team played a friendly game with the Hastings H.S.O.G. A2 team, at Hastings, on aSturday winning by 23 to 20.
