Tliese bring the total to well over £7(K). This is very considerably more tkan tlie' quota set for Hastings by the Minister of Internal Affairs, and it is expected that throughout to-dayj which is Flag -Day, there will be further gifts received. In addition, the proceeds from tbe sale of flags will also bo included with the mo'neys' donated, so that the final cheque forwarded to the Central Fund in Wellington f'rom Hastings will alinost certainly be more than double what was expected from tbo borough.
