MR LOUIS T. SYMES

Word comes i'rom Auckland of the death, after a short illness, of Mr Mr Louis Thorley Symes, who for many years was mauager of the Bank of Australasia at Gisborne and subsequently at Auckland. Since his retirement from that position on superannuation he had been carrying on business as a sharebroker in the northern city. He was one of the seven sons of Mr Francis Symes, an early settler on tlie No 2 Line, Wanganui, who later on took up new country near Waverley. He leaves his widow, two sons and a d&ughter to mourn his loss and, with a very large family connection and a host of friends his death will be widely and sineerely rcgretted. Mr Alfred Symes, of ''Richmond Park," Hastiugs, is oue of his many nephews.
