ARMY CABINET RESIGNS
• I (Reeeived 1, 8.45 a.m.) TOKIO, May 31. The Hayashi Cabinet has resigned, apparently as the result of hostile pressure by the combined Minseito and Seiyuaki Parties who threatened to move a noconfidence motion directly the Diet meets. In the recent Japanese elections the Hayashi Cabinet, which is strongly militaristic, was crushingly defeated, but the Premier, General Senjuro Hayashi announced his intention of ignoring the verdict of the polls.
