GISBORNE, Thie Day. The death has oeeuiTed on his 60th birthday of Captain W. T. Pitt, a leadlng member of the Maori race. Oaptain Pitt served with the first New Zealand contingent in the Boer War, and on the outbreak of the Great War joined the first Maori contingent, seemg service at Gallipoli and France.
