MR. WILLIAM F. STONE
The death occurred at Te Awamutu 04 Thursday last of the well-known trainer, Mr. W. F. Stone, aged 69, who had b-eeu in ill-health for some timo. For inany years Mr. Stone was located at Hastings, where he acted as tra-ner for Messrs. H. Pliarazyn and H. M. Campbell, and also had a good few suc ce-sses with Appin nd Arrayer for the late Mr. Alfred Beid. Sinco going to Te Awamutu he has trained several hprses .for the two iirst-named owners. Uuring Jris career he turned out many winners, including Motere, winner of the Auckland Cup of 1930, and Supremacy, who annexed the Railway Handicap at Ellerslie cn 1931, and Stretto, a well-known two-year-old performer.
