One-Sided Games -on Saturday TE AWA BEAT HUIA Aithough some good play was secn in the various hockey matches in Napier on Saturday, it was done in most cases only by one of the teams playing. Where the game was evenly contested, with one exception, iit cannot be said that the play reached a high level. In the two senior women 's games the play -was rather disappointing. Aithough Te Awa eventually .beat Huia by one goal to nil, their play was not up to the standard of the previous Saturday, wheu they so decisively beat Napier. Huia forwards made the game fast-and attacked frequently, but the Te Awa defence was sound, though the Reds came within an ace of scoring on more than one occasion. Te Awa backs defended well, but the passing was rather wild and the forwards were" not given any chance to score so that it was not until near tbe close of the game that Miss B. Daniel found the not with a good 8hot and gave Te Awa a narrow vietory.* In the match Napier v. .Clive there was no score, and the display of hockey was not good by eitlior side. In the junior women 's game Tui were much too good for Westshore, combiu•ing fairly well in both attack and defence. The meu 'b senior games saw a really good match at Taradale between Hastings Old Boys and Taradale, the former winning in a fast and well-contested game by three goals to two. At Napier, Kiwi continued the victorious march, and 'piled up a good score against Waratah. The junior game Kiwi Blue v. Kiwu White was one of the bright spots of the afternoon. The Blues played a wonderfully good game for a junior leam, their defence, their stick work, and their short, crisp passes in the circle being worthy of any senior team . in the competition. Tbeirs was a very handsome win, At Taradale the Taradale junior? found Kiwi Gold an' easy mark, but the latter will improve. Results: — SENIOR WOMEN* . Te Awa (1) v. Huia (nil). Napier (nil) v.
