June 20, folldwittg the opening of the nevj station at Wellington on Baturday, June 19, when all passenger trains will use the Tawa Flat deviation. The change- over to the deviation makes it possible to reJuce appreciably the running time of all trains using the Wellington-Palmerston North portion of the. Maia Trunk. A saving of 42 minutes will be effected in tho runnin'g of the ;3 p,m. Atickland-Wellington ex- ■' press", ahd a saving of 26 minutes will be made in tbe running. of the 7 p.m. Aueklafid-Wellington Limited. ; The arrival and "departure times- of the Maui Trunk expresses have been , • arranged to coincide in both directions. The Limited -will take 141 bours for the • run between the Auckland and Wellingtoh terrninals, and the ordinary ex- , presses 16 hours. ' Time-saviug alterations are also be- : ing made in the case of the New Ply* month and Napier expresses, as well as Wellington-Palmerston North local trains, and alterations to provide faste-r services have been arranged for various Wellington suburban lines; also on the Wairarapa route.
