' Six seCond-fclass certificates (yearly test) averaging 600.161b. fat, and four . third-class certificates (yearly test) averaging 707.041b. fat were also issued for records completed during 1936. The total number of first-class certificates (yearly test) issued to Friesians by the Dairy Division. since the inception of C.O.R. testing is now 2245, the average for these certificates being 14,069.31b. milk and 498.871b. fat. This average is easily the best for all dairy breeds in New Zealand. During the past year Totara C. R. Butteteup . finished her sixth consecutive lactation with a record of 848.181b. fat. This makes her total lifetime yield, under official' test, 148.462.31b. milk and 5,636.211b. fat— easily a reeord for any cow of any breed in the Dominion.' Fendalton Pansy Poseh 3rd, with a production of 11,083.41b. milk and 588.801b. fat, had an average test of 5.31 per cent. — a breed record for the British Empire. During 1936 twelve cows produced over 2000 gallons of milk, cnaking a total to that date of 226 for the Friesian breed. The total number of times Friesians have produced over 1001b. fat in a month was raised to 100 by the addition of two euch records during the year.
