OBITUARY

Mrs. J. McLeod WAIPAWA, May 28. The death oceurred yesterday, at the residence of her daughter (Mrs F. Martin, Hastings), of a very highJy respected resident of the Waipawa district in the person of Mrs Marv «*Luie McLeod, relict of the late Doeald McLeod, who was one of the original settlers on the Argyle estate when it was acquired and cut up by the Gorern-' mcnt. The late Mrs McLeod, who was 72 years of age, had been ailing for some time, but recently her health had improvcd and the end came suddenly. Of a warm-hearted disposition, her death will bo rcgretted by a large cirelo of friends. The funeral took place in Waipawa to-day and was larg&ly attended, Rev. F. W. Eobertson conducting the service.
