Dealing with the guaranteed price, Mr, Merton said that the Government had been fairiy guccessful in the marketing of produce and the price ruliixg now was a great imprpvement on last year and cpnfirms the impression gained by visitors to England, notably Profcssor Biddet, that thq marketing by the Government was giving satisfaetipn to tlxe English mer chants. "The predictioa of some that the loss for the year pa the guaranteed price will be about £2,000,000 has no foundatipn, as with .th© butter and cheese combined the loss, if there is oue, will be comparatively small," said Mr. Morton.
