Increase From £400 To £600 In Britain "QUITE INADEQUATE"
(Beceived 28, 1.30 p.m.) BIJGBY, May 27. The Prime Ministqr, Mr Stanley Baldwin informed the House of Gommons of the Government's decision regarding menibers ' salanies. '(I made enquiries into the question *bf whether the salariee pf Members of Parliament , should be increased," he said. "The existing figuxe of £400 was fixed in 1911, and it is obvious that if £400 was adequate in the ©ircumstances. then existfpg, it cannof be so regarded in the very diffefent cpnditiqns whieh prevail to-day. 'The Government has deeided to propose that the figure should be in® ereased tq £600, and the necessary steps will be taken at an e&rly date. ' '
