• GISBORNE, Last Night. A warning tbat "piratiug" by contraetors engaged regularly on Publie Works as owner-drivers, would not be tolerated, was issued by the Minister of Public Works, tbe Hon. R. Semple, to-day at Te Araroa, in reply to representations that sucb a position existed. Unless these men had a transport license . they would not be allowed to carry, he said. Tbe coiupiaint was made tbat some lorry owners engaged by 1«be Department were competing agajnst legitimate drivers-bolding transport licenses. Mr Semple said tbat they bad to quit competing against tbe fellow witb a license or get off the job,
