AUCKLAND, Last Night. The hearing of a claim for £2000 daipagcs nnde'r the DeathB.by Accident Oompengation Acfc, was concluded in the Supreme Court before Mr Justice Callan and a jury. -The action was broivyit by Arthur Burrows, of Matakohe, farmer, as, administrator pf the estate of hjs wife, Isabella Burrows, and the defendant was Esmond Henry Savage, of Tahipaa,' sawmjller. The action arose out of a collision between a Ji'Uek and a mojor-car at tho eorner of East Tamaki road and the Great Sonth road at Papatoetoe on April 27, 1936, and Mrs Bnrrows died two days later. The car in which she was a passenger was driven by Oscar Clansen, her husband's brother-in-law, and the truck was owned by defendant and driven by his employee, Sangi Weke. Plaintiff allegsd that the accident was due to the negligent driving of Weke, and the defence denied any negligence. The juiy retnmed with a verdiet for plaintiff for £750 and funeval expenses £22.
