London Bus Strike

SANE WORKER.

Sir, — The cable announclng the xesumption of bus traffic in London and the conclusion of the busmen's strike gives some figurds which makes one ponder thoughtfully. The gross strike pay lost is said to be £450,000, besides £500,000 lost by the board. The strike pay totalled £120,000, l(*.ving the men losers of £330,000 in' wages. If theyare able .to secure ah increase of 10 per cent. on their present rate of pay, and it may be doubted whether they will get, so much, the increase would be £45,000, so that it wduld take just on seven years of the increased pay before they would get back the £330,000 which they lost through striking. This' is another striking example of the faet that in a strike nobody wins, all are losers. — I am,- etc.,
