LONDON, April 25. German engineers h ave diseorered yet another rival to petrol as a sourcs of motor power. They have successfully completed tests with a lorrv that ruus on peat. Dozens of alternative motor'7 fuels have now been invented. In addition to peat, coal, charcoal or ordinary wood &re being used to " iiiake "produce? gas" motor fueL Germany 's peat-drivon lorry is a rival to the British "producer gas" lorry. The prineiple is the sarne. The lorry has its own generator, producing gas fnel that takes the place of vaporised petrol in an ordinary motor evhicle A wood fire is lit to start the proiueer working, and peat is then added. With everything stone cold, the lorry ecn be made ready to start 10 minntes after the Ere is lit.
