Hastings would substantially reduce the ultimate cost, and cash donations had already reached £62, but contributions had come in more slowiy during the last few months. The urgent need for the building was stressed by Mr. Cooksey, and Mr. Rainbow suggested that Mr. Cooksey ehould make personal calls on those likely to be interested. He suggested that the available funds should be transferred to a post office account with Messrs. Hendry and Phillips as trustees. Mr. Cooksey mentioned that following the reorganisation at general headquarters he Tiad been appointed a commiesioner for the North Island. His new duties would make it impossiblo for him to make the local contacts he had made formerly, and Mr. Cooksey suggested that an • assistant-district eommissioner should be appointed for Hastings. ; It was decided that each troop should contribute '5/- a year to area funds, and the committee to meet regularly every month.
