Mr. and Mrs. Griffiths, Ruataniwha

On Friday evening laSt a large and representatnve gathering was held in the Ruataniwha Memorial Hall to bid farewell to Mr and Mrs Griffiths and family. The evening was spent in dancing and games, and the Rev. W. T. and Mrs Drake delighted the company with their vocal duets. During an intorval Mr A. L. Malcolm, on behalf of those present, voiced regret at the impendang departure of the Griffiths family, who during their residence in Ruataniwha had taken an active interest in the affairs of the district. He asked them to accept as a small memento of their happy association, a beautiful eiderdown, to Miss Nesta Griffiths he handed a manicure set, and to Messrs L. and W. Griffiths a wallet. 'The Rev. W. T. Drake also spoke in pulogistic terme of the guests of the evendng, Mr Griffiths making laitablo response. The gathering was brought to a close with the singing of ' ' Auld Lang Syne.*'
