SHEEP FOR JAPAN
Purchases Made In Australia CORRIEDALES USED SYDNEY, April 24. Dr. T. Ohtsu, a sheep-breeding expert from Horea, arrived in Sydhey yesterday on the Muroran Maru, He was accompanied by three attendants, who, on the returu of the vessel from Milbourne,. will take charge of a large conpignment of Corriedales, destined for breeding purposes in Horea and Manchukuo. It is believed that sheep have already been purchased, mostly in New South Wales. F. Kanematsu Ltd., are acting as agents. While the steamer is in port Dr. Ohtsu and the attendants will .probably visit holdings in the country to study Australian sheep-breeding methods. Interest surrounds the visit of Dr. Ohtsu inasmuch as a message from Brisbane reports him as having stated that {here were already 7000 Australian and New Zealand Corriedales in Horea, and they were doing well. Asked whether it was true that sheep imported into Manchukuo were dying from starvation, cold, . and meningitis, Dr. Ohtsu said that the Australian sheep did not seem to mind the colder weather and most were doing well enousrh.
