BAY VIEW WOMEN'S GARDEN CIRCLE MEETS
Tlie May meeting of • the Bay Yiew Garden Circle was held at Mrs. Walden's. Owing to unforeseen circumstances i the talk on cactus-growing had to be postponed until a later date. A very interesting paper on the raising of seedlings and lawn-making was read, members afterwards discussing the best way they found to grow various seedlings. The hostesses' competition, jumbled flower names, resulted in a tie between Mesdames A. McHardy and PetersOn. The appropriate prize of flower seeds was divided. The competitions for the month resulted: — Basket of chrysanthemuais, Mrs. Les Staniland I, Mrs. A. McHardy 2. Best chrysanthemum bloom, Mrs. Olseu 1, Mrs. Les Staniland 2, Miss Nicholls 3. Sweetest scented flower, Mrs. Olsen (car nation) 1, Mrs. Saunders (violet) 2, Mrs. Peterson (carnation) 3, Afternoon tea brought an interesting meeting to a close>
