WELLINGTON, L&rt N^ht, It is learned from an authoritative eource in Wellington to-day that the interrogation of the three nurses who left last week for Spain was conducted by police officers at the request of the Internal Affairs Department at Auckland. It was also stated - that there was a strong possibility that the nurseswould not be permitted to enter Spain. •because of the restrictione imposed under the extension pf the non-inter-vention agreement to cover the dispatch1 of volunteers to Spain. The Commissioner of Police, Mr. D. J, Cumrm'ngs, declined to diseuss the case other than to say he expected to have a report on the action of the Auckland police in a day or two. The Under-iSecretary for Internal Affairs, Mr. J. W. Heenan, also declined to com--ment pending a statfement by the Minister of Internal Affairs in due course.
