Indian Admits Knifing Compatriot . DISPUTE OVER M0NEY

DUNEDIN, Last Night. In the Police Court. to-day, before Mr. Bundle, S.M., Jamsher Allee, the donkeyman of the motor vessel Oiivebank, was charged with having woundcd the engine-room seraug Jabid Allee with intend to do him grievous bodily harm. The charge arose out of a stabbing affray which occurred on the Clivebank at Ravensbourne on April 9. The aceused who entered a filea not guilty at the original hearing, ad* mitted! when he came before the Court wagain that he had. .stabbed Uab'jd Allee, and in the circumstances the magistrate, before commitfcing accused tn the Supreme Court, remanded him for a further week to allow him to consider his plea. When the hearing was resumed today, Mr. J. G. Warrington, who appeared for Jamsher Allee said that he had diseussed the position with his client, who now desired to plead guilty. After evidence had been tendered by the accused, who said that a dispute arose over money, which he had given complainant to keep for him, and which complainant consistently refused to return, he alleged that when he insisted on Tepayment of the money, complainant lifted a sbick to strike him. At this, accused, guarding his head with his right hand, drew his knife with his left and stabbed him, The magiistrate committed accused to the Supreme Court for sentence.
