WITH THE HOUNDS
Enjoyable Hunl at Forest • Gat« A LARGE F0LL0WING (Contributed) The Hunt on Saturday was over country given by Mr Duncan Holden, of Forest Gate. Hounds moved off punctually at 11.30 to the central ridge of hills and 20 minutes later put up a strong hare that ran left-handed to the flats on the Ongaonga road. Here, after a short check, it crossed the road to the plough- , ed ground, and hounds had to be whipped off as it proved to be forbidden country. Eeturning to Mr Holden 's, anothei hare was found and it ran towards ths Ongaonga township, but after a halfmile rqn hounds again had to be whipped off. The master then took hounds back behind the Forest Gate homestead, where pcent was picked up and hounds ran fast to the creek bed. Turning, they circled the hills and again oyer the creek to the youn g grass and crostsing the water a third time this hare crofesed Mr Johnson's boundary fence before it returned towards the Forest Gate home plantations where hounds finally lost.
