WAIPAWA, This Day. A stroke round for the captain 's trophy was played by the members of the Waipawa Golf Ulub on Saturday afternoon, the best cards handed in being as follows: —
On Wednesday this section will play for the above trophy, tiie winner to play a further round against Knobloch, che dr'aw being as under: — Bryant v. G. Knobloch; Edwards v. Woods; Tickner v. Norris; Shackleford v. Or r; Bishop v. Dwight; Clark v; Rust; Sprridge v. King; Jopson v. Holt; Dallas v. Jeffery; Dick v. Petersen; Fox v. Mitchell; Upton v. another. A team from the Hastings Club played a match against Waipawa on the latter club's links over the woek-end, rCsults being fairly even, although the aggregate was slightly in favour of Hastings. Some very good cards were returned, notably that of Budd, who brought home a nice 73 off the stick. Watts played a useful 36 over nine holes, which is probably tho record for the course. Next week-end the club is making a special day for the King Georgo Memorial Fund. The morning will be taken up with stroke rounds for both ladies and men, and in tho afternoon a mixed Canadian foursime will be played, partners being arranged at the links. The entry fee for the day will be two shillings, and useful trophies will be given the winners. All members are particularly xequested to be present.
