GUILD LITERARY CIRCLE MEETING IN HASTINGS

Miss Ford presided over a good attendance of members for the May meeting of the liferary circle of the Hastings Townswomen's Guild. Members were reminded of the music circle meeting next Thursday night in the G.F.S. rooms, when the Ilev. K. Liggett would continue his lccture which He starfced last year. A W.E.A. notice was read, inviting all interested to attend their lectures. The rest of the afternoon was devoted to the programme whicli centred round Coronation and Motlier's Day. Miss fStrang read a paper on the Crown Jewels, and then recited a poem on Mother; Mrs Harper entertained members witli some personal memories of the Coronation procession of George Y ; Mrs A. F. Glenny spoke on George VI., his boyhood days and work; Mrs Ililey also spoke on the "Royal Regalia ; and Miss A. Ford read Mrs E. V. Sinipson's paper, which was taken from J. M.
