NAPIER CHESS CLUB
The weekly meeting of the Napier Chefs Club brought a good xnauy players together. Mr Johu Mason, club president, was present and played several games, in the coutse of which he demonstrated that hc has lost little, if any, of his skill. Mr Yarroll, a prominent member of the Wellington Chess Jlub, also took part in a number of games with local players. A match is being arranged with Ihe Hastings Chess Club for Wednesday, June 2. a. number of competition games have been played, the results being: — Handicap. — Aislabie beat Brown; Aislabie beat Gibson; Brown beat Milleri Callaghan beat Husheer; CalHghau beat Miller; Bartle beat Pirani; Bartle beat Whibley; Pirani beat Husheer; Pirani beat Callaghan; Willis beat Burt; Willis beat Husheer; Ew*m beat Miller; Fenwick beat Scott; Fraser beat Broadbelt; Uibson beat Pirani; Miller beat Burt; Gair drew with.
