Marine Department's New Officers

CHBISTCHUECH, Last Night. The officers for its new freshWa'ter investigation branch have been sel^eted by the Marine Department. Mr. A. Ey Hefl6rd, Chief Inspector of Fisheries, who will direot the Tesearcb, announced on Saturday that the appointments as freshwater biologists had been offored to Mr. D. F. Hobbs (Christchurch) and Mr. D. Cairns (Wellington). Miss V. K. Lawrey (Christchurch) has been appointed laboratory assistant, a special laboratory being fitted up in Wellington.
