MAC. also continued th*ir winning way and axe now two points, behind the leaders, being, TeOhnicar* neaxest rivals. The Marist-Technical O.B. raatch wa& the only one played at Napier, and after a fine exhibition Technical agam h'ad their colours lowered as the reSult of a field goal, the iial count being 18—16 to Marist. The other three games wete played at Nelson^ Park, Hastings, and produced a variety of play that on the whole was of quite a high standard and at times very esCiting. Hastings H.S.O.B. defeated Hastings 14^—4 in the early game, and richly eatned their victory, being superior in almost every phase of the gaine. M.A.C. tsurprisingly found Havelock North difficult to ihaSter; it was liot nntil Well in * the second spell that the Maoris did gain supremacy, but once on top, they roinped home to the ttine of 27 points to 13. Celtic and Pif ates wero evenly matched in the first spell, but after the interval there was only on© team in it, Celtic runiiing .out victors by 21 pointa to eight.
