WILL 2ZL SELL OUT?
Matter Now Rests With the Owners GOVERNMENT'S OFFER No official information could be obtained by a Herald-Tiibune representative this morning of the intention of the management of radib station 2ZL in respect of tbe Government's ofi'or of purchase. There remain-s now but eight days of the tinie allowed by the department for consideration of the offer. It will be recalled that originally the offer of purchase was open until the end of last month, but, in response to representations from all over the Dominion when the Government's intention to take control of all the B-class stations in New Zealand was made known, an extension of the time for one month was allowed. A petition of listeners in this district asking that no cliange should be made in tlie existing services is now awaiting presentation to Mr E. L. Cullen, M.P.. for delivery t0 Cabinet, and this is expected to be carried out within the next few days. However, as similar representations have been made in other parts of the Dominion, and. as there has been- no official announceone'nt made that would alter the position in any way, jt seems that it now rests with the owners themselves whether or not they will accept the offer and sell out or. will reject the proposal and take the chance that the Government will. continue to afford the protection it at present affords in the matter of rights.
