RUSH SETS IN

Motor Registration and Drivers' Licences The inevitable rush for motor-veh-icle registrations and the issue of drivers' licences has set in, and there was a steady stream of people making their request's at the Post Office and Borough Council offices this morning. With just one week to go oificials have resigned themselves to an extraordinary rush of applications this year, for never before has the plea to "do it early" been so disregarded as has been tbe case this year. From inquiries made this morning by a Herald-Tribune representative it seems that fewer than 20 per cent. of the motor-vehicle owners in this district have obtained their new black-and-white number plates, the total issued being barely 800 out of approximiately 4000 vehicles. The position regarding drivers '-licences is even more acute for the reason that, of the 3000 or inore licences issiied for the now closing season, only 375 have been renewed. j
