The Union Steam Ship Co. of N.Z.. Ltd., has received advice from the Orient Lino of the. death an England of Oaptain A. J. Coad on May 6. Captain Coad "was Ccmmodore of the Orient Line fleet i'or ten- y ears from the war period until after the inaiden voyage of the Oronsay in Maa'cli, 1925, when he retired. Practically the wholp of llis sea-going career was spont in the service of the line. He was in charge of the Orsova when she was torpedoed in tlie English Channel in'hlarch, 1917, and he successfully beaehcd the ship in Cawsand Bay.
