AIR RACE ABANDONED
■ ^ ■ Alternative Flight Being Considered (Reeeived 22, 2.15 p.m.) PARIS, May 21. The plan to hold an Atlantic air race has been irrevocably abandoned, but there is a possibility of another international race being arranged, and the prize-money is being kept for this purpose. It was previously planned to hold a transatlantie air race from New York to Paris in August, in commemoration of Col. Lindbergh's flight. The United States Government, however, refused to grant permission for the race, on the ground of risk of a needless loss of life.
