Hawke's Bay Plan Concerns Butter Only
(By Telesraoh—
WELLINGTON, Last Night. Int-erviewed. to-day in connection with the distribution of dairy produce and allied lines in Hawke's Bay, the Directcr of Internal Marketing, Dr. F. U. I'icot, said that the new company to be iormed wai of a purely co-opera-tivi- nature for the purpose of marketing butter manufactured by the co-op-erative dairy companies within the Hawke's Bay area. The statement from H&wke's Bay gave the impression that all bacon, pork and small goods also would be handled through this one company only, but this was not the intention of the company. The only b'acon and small goods that would be handled through this new company would be those manufactured by co-operative interests, the Kiwi Bacon Company Limited, whose present marketing in Hawke's Bay was done through the internal marketing branch in Hastings. Other standard brands would carry on with their ordinary distribution as in the past. There was no intention of departing from the regular system of distributing bacon ancl small goods.
