COPENHAGEN". — Danisb natural scientists are preparing to launcb a new attack on the atom. Two very powerful sets of apparatus, ono of 2,000,000 volts, tbe other of 10,000,000, bave been erected bere, for the use of Prof. Neils Bohr, well-known pliysicist and bis assistants,. in tbeir scareb to esthblisk a definite basis for tbe atom. Two methods are to be used, one by high explosion, tbe other by electromagnetism, the mecbanism for the latter being one of tbe most powerful of sucb coustructions in tbe world. In other parts of Europe and in tbe Qnited States, similar experiments are rlso in band. In England, Lord Rutherford is soon to bave ai^ apparatus of 3,000,000 volta'ge at 'his disposal.
