m > ' THE ENGLISH TEAM HFTEEN INTERNATIONALS MATCHES IN NEW ZEALAND The English Boccer team Which is about to tour New Zealand ineiudes 15 international players. Nine matches are to be played in the Dominion and New Zealanders are looking forward to a bright exposition of a code which has captured the sportliving public of the Homeland. The details of the players are: — Goalkeepers L. T. Huddle (Casuals).— Age 26, weight 14st., height 6ft. lin. He was a member of the British Giympid Games team, and playfed in an amateur international trial. In addition to the Casuals, he has also played for Arsenal and Corinthians. A. H. Woolcock (Cambridge University). — Age 22, height 6ft, lin„ weight 12st, 121b, He is captain of Cambridge University, and also plays for Corinthians, the Casuals and Brighton and Hove Albion. He kept goal for Englaftd against Ireland this year. Full-backg G. A. Strasser ( Corintmans) ^ - a former captain of Cambridge University, he is an international, and plays occasionally for the Casiials. His age is 23, height 5ft. llin., and Weight 12st, 121b. H, S. Robbins is captain of the Dulwich Hamlet team, He holds three amateur cup medals, a rare distinction, and has played for England three times. He is 29, 5ft, 7in, tall, and weighs llst. 61b. W. H. Pickering is 17, the young-. est member of the team, He plays • for Sheffield Wednesday and was in the international trlals this- year, and played for the Football Association against the Royal Air Force. His height is 5ft. . 9in., and weight lOst. 71b. Half-badu J. W, Lewis (Walthamitow Avenue) has seven International caps to his credit, the County Cttp and Badge^ Long Service Badge, Londoh Cap and Badge, and Athenlan League Cap and Badge. He is 31 years of age, 5ft. llin. tall and weighs l3st. He is also a useful instde forward. E. Tunnlngton (Lloyd's Bank> has played in three international matches and several Football Association representative games. He has captained the Southern Amateur League eleven attd the London Banks eleven, and played for the South against the North, Chelsea, Casuals and Corinthians. His age is 26, weight 12st. 61b., and height 5ft. lliirt. B. Joy has an excellent record: 10 amateur international caps and one full international cap: He was captain of the recent Olympic Games team. and has captained England's amateur team. In addition to Arsenal, he has also played for the Casuals. Weighing I3st. 41b., his height is 6ft. 2in. His age is 25. J. Sutcliffe (Corinthians), the medical student, is 6ft., weights 12st. 41b„ and is aged 24. He has played in amateur internationals twice and been reserve on six occasions. He represpnted Great Britain at the Olympic Games. T. H. Leek (Moor Green) was capped twice last year and has played regularly for the Combined Universities' team since 1933. His age Is 23, height 5ft. llin., and weight 12st. 41b. The Forwnrds W. W. Parr (Blackpool) has been picked for Lancashire County four times, and. holds flve international caps. His age is 21, weight lOst. 21b., and height 5ft. 9in. E. C. Collins (Walthamstow Avenue) has been capped three times. He holds the County and London Cap and Badge and has played for the Athenian League and in Football Association representative games. Corporal S. Eastham (Army) is making his second tour. for he travelled with the Combined Services team in South Africa in 1935. He has been capped three times, and played for Great Britain at the Olympic Games. He has also been picked occasionally by Liverpool and the Football Association. His age is 23, weight lOst. 21b., and height 5ft. 3iin. R. J. Mathews (Walthamstow Avenue) has played for England against Ireland and Wales, and has represented Essex County, London, the Athenian League, the Civil Service and the Football Association. His usual position is centre-forward. His age is 25, height 5ft. 8in., and weight lOst. 51b. F. Riley (Casuals) has two International caps and he played at the Olympic Games. He also turns out for Corinthians. Aged 24, he is 5ft. 8iri. tall, and weighs llst. L. C. Thornton (Derbyshire Amateurs) holds four amateur caps, and' has played for the Corinthians and Coventry City. His age is 27, weight llst. 81b., and height 6ft. L. C. Finch (Barnet) has been capped for England 11 times. He went to the Olympic Games and has been picked by London, Hertfordshire, arid the Athenian League. He has also played in three international trials and five times for the southern counties against the northern. His age is 27, height 5ft. 9in., and weight llst. 71b. F . Davis (Walthamstow Avenue) has played for Essex, the Athenian League and the Football Association. His age is 24, weight lOst. 111b., and height 5ft. 7in. 5v .
