Takapau Tennfs Club. The Takapau Tennis Club held its annual dance in the Public Hall on Wednesday night. It provided a very enjoyable evening in a hall decorated in Coronation colours. Dance music, much appreciated, was provided by Les Henry's orchestra. Mr C. Olsen was a capable M.C. Mr F. de Stacpole presented the club trophies for the year, as fpllows : Ladies' champiouship, Miss Phyllis Cato; ladies' handicap, Miss •Phyllis Cato; ladies' junior championship, Miss Tui Power; men's senior championship, Rev. H. S. Scott; men's junior championship, Mr Ian Galvin; junior handicap, Mr Ian Galvin. A guessing competition was won by Miss Murphy. A dainty supper was provided by the lady members of the club. Mr W. Story, honorary secretary, had all arrangements well made. Otane Rugby. The Otane Rugby juniors will play Waipawa juniors on the Otane Recreation ground at 2.45 p.nii. on Saturday. The seniors, who have a bye, will assemble at 1.30 p.m. for a practice game. Transport will be provided for those desiring to witness the Te Aute v .Takapau match at Te Aute. Home Nursing Classes. A meeting of those interested was held recently in Otane, when it was decided to form a home nursing class commencing on Monday next. Mrs J. N. Barrie has consented to deliver lectures and gjive practical instruction. King George V. Memorial. The Wairoa fund for the King George V. Memorial scheme stands at £112. 19/-. Further local body amounts are to come yet.
