(From th« Special Corxespondent of the United Prew Aasooiation with the Team.) (Received 21, ll.Q a.m.) OXFORD, May 20. The New Zealanders found something approaohing their real form today when, taking advantage of a perfeot wicket, they secured a first innings iead before lunch, taking only two hours to score 160. The batting was confident and aggressive throughout. -j.fter Moioney had been caughfe lo the slips, Wallace and Donnelly brightly added 96 in'50 mdnutes. Wallace was brilliant scoring in every part of the field with clean, strong strokes, hifting 14 fours. Donnelly waited for a loose ball, and then cracked it heartily. He scored seven boundaries. Gallicban and Roberts scored 54 together in 40 minutes, the former driving powerfully, hitting seven fours. Dunning and Roberts, in a good ninthwioket partnership, added 66 in 40 minutes, and while Cowie only scored one, Roberts added 22 more for the last wicket, Roberts gave a fine display of powerful front wicket hitting strokes, including two eixes, eight fours and two threes, The accuracy of the New Zealand attack compelled the University to take three hours to score 162 runs. They even subdued the brilliant Kimpton. The cricket critics warmly praise Cowie, one referring to "the terrific speed at which the ball broke back. The Oxford Mail says that Cowie was almost nnplayable before lunch, but sixggests that with the wieket to help hiin, the match-winner will probably be Roberts. One writer says that the most impressive part of the team's work so far has been the lively fielding. The weather is fine and the wicket good for to-day's play. Scores NEW ZEALAND.
