AUCKLAND, Last Night. Etaviflg made bets with a constable, on two oceasions Lalhbert Russell, aged 30, a traveller, was arrested on May 15 by detectives. When a search warrant was executed at his premises juij Hobson street detectives seized a quan- J tity of betfxng material. Russell piead-j ed guilty at the Police Court ,to-day to, being the occupier of premises and using them as a common gaming-house. He was fined £50, in default oue month 's imprisonment.
