Matapiro Branch Meeting The anntial meeting of the Matapiro branch of the Farmers' "Onipn wa« held last week, when there wa* a moderate attendance of members. Officers elected for the ensuing year were : — Ghaxrman, Mr W. H. Nelson . vice-chairinan, Mr A. W. Wbvtc h retary and delegate, Mr A. W, Butt; oommittee, Messrs R. L. Reed, J. Mason, E. N. O. Clarkson, A. and L, Ibbotson and A. Hyslop. Mr Harris, organiser for Hawke's Bay, addressed the meeting in a most interesting manner on the aims and achievements of the Farmers' Union, and gave much information on organisation matters. Considerable diseussion'took place on the necessity for unity among farmers and tlie desirability of federating the various producers' organisations. To. this end a remit is being sent forwkrd for consideration at the anmial provinoial conference.
