"GOLD DIGGERS OP 1937" EXTENDED SEASON Every two years there is presented to the movie-fans of the world, nnder the generic title of ' ' Gold Diggers," a big And merry melange of rich comedy, songs that become hlts, and pretty, faatstepping dancing girls by the hnhdreds. Warner Bros. originatad this idea and have carried it out with unfaTEng success. "Gold Diggers of 1937," the cnrrent edition, screens at the Cosy Theatre tonight. Dick Powell and Joan Blondell are the stars. A logical enough comedyyarn is provided, upon which the. songs and dances are strung. It has to do with Powell, as an unsuccessful life inBurance salesman, selling a million dollar policy on the life of Yictor Moore, a leading theatrical^ prOducer. Moore takes a fancy to him and makes hfiw head of his stage enterprises.
