KEEP 2ZP ON THE AIR

. Waipukurau Resolution Expressing tho fear that if the Government took over the Wairoa radio station, 2ZP, they might bedeprived of broadeast matter which was of an educational value, radio listeners of Waipukurau adopted a resolution last night to the effect that the Government should. maintain the station within Hawke's Bay and also that tho present executive personnel should be retained.

Station 2ZP, which Is well known in this province, is to be purchased by the Government at the end of this month, and Waipukurau people are afraid that it may go off the air. At the close of a concert given by ucle Peter in the Municipal Theatre, Waipukurau, last night, the question was discussed and the following resolution adopted:— "That in the event of the purchase of the Wairoa broadcasting station, 2ZP, by the Government, the station be maintained withxn the Hawke 's Bay proviuce; also that, in view of proven 6ducational value, espeeially in regard to the station 's children 's organisatxons, the present exectttive personnel of the station be retained." This was adopted on the motion of Mr. J. S. Winlove, seconded by Mr. H. A. Mar'tin. The Mayor, Mr. I. W. N. Mactee, presided over the meeting.
