AUCKLAND, Last Night. A large proportion of a heavy con signment of Californian ■ orangesbrought by the Maripfisa which reacheU Auckland last Friday was carried on to Sydney by the vessel. Although the vessel remained in port overnight and did not sail fhr Australia until Saturday evening it was not found possible to unload the whole Of the orange shipment, some. of the delay . being cauSefi by rain. " - , . These oranges were costing 40s per case to land but in view of the shortage in the market there was a keen demand for them.- However, every importer iad a large share of his consignipent carried on to Sydney and will be faced with heavy los& ' The Mariposa is due back from Sydney on May 31 and the remainder of her orange shipment will come into a well supplifed market. The steomer Limerick will arrive with 8000. cases of Cook Island oranges on May- 27 and three days after the landing of the Mariposa's shipment the Matua will bring another 18,000 cases of aoranges' from Cook Islands.
