Webb) visited Huntly to-night and met representatives of the union and the managers of the coliieries concerned. The conference lasted - two hours and terminated when . Mr Hutchison, for the union, had uothing to say except that a deadlock had been reached and that there would be no work at the mine to-morrow. He said meetings would be held at each of the mining settlements and the deliberations of the conference would be discussed with the men.
