The testimonies from other centres all assert that Mr E. M. Blaiklock, M.A., the classics lecturer at t'he University, Auckland, and a well-known preacher, is a most impressive speaker — logical, couvincing, and scholarly. His lectures have drawn large audiences. He throws a great amount of light on difficult passages of Scriptares, and has a strong appeal, especially for young people. His first address in Hastings, on the subjeet "The Itesurrection — Fact or Fancy?", will be given to-morrow evening at 7.30 in the Baptist Church, Karamu road south. People of all persuasions and sliades of thought are most eordially invited to 'these special addresses^ An appeal for clothes to be sold on Saturday at jumble sale in the Oddfellows' Hall, Hastings, in aid of the Hastings Plunket Society is made by the ladies who are responsible for the organisation of the sale. Parcels may be left. at the Plunket rooms before the sale. This year 's effort is being held later than usual on account of the infautile paralysis epidemio. To-morrow night at the Barrie Studio, McKenzie 's basketball team will hold what will undoubtedly prove a very enjoyable dauce. Novelty dances, together with good musie and a dclicious supper, will assure to' all a real good evening. The attention of members of the Hawke's Bay Miniature Rifle Association is drawn to its annual general meeting, which will be held in the Chamber of Commerce room, Karamu road, on Friday at 8 p.m.
