COMMITTEES SET UP
Mr. Nash Chairman or Shipping Section (Reeeived 19, 11.30 a.m.) - LONDON, May 18. The Imperial Conference's activititie* to-day were purely informal and preliminary. Representatives of the heads of the delegations met in the morning in connection with the procedure for contistutional questions in readiness for a meeting) of the heads of the delegations to-morrow to deal with fhis matter. The following committees were established : Civil Aviation and CommuBicatiQns; Chairman, Sir Archdale Parkhill, and the New Zealand representatives, Messrs Walter Nash and W. J. Jordan. Constitutional questions: Chairman, Mr Lapointe. The New Zealand representative is Mr Savage. Tentative terms of referenee are: Nationality treaty procedure; international status of members of the British Commonwealth; registration of intra-Imperial agreements with the League; and channels of communication. Economio questions: Mr Havenga. The New Zealand representatives are Mesprs Savage and Nash. The terms of referenee are: Firstly, the Imperial Economio Committee; eecondly, Australia's proposal for an Empire Agricultural Council; and thirdly, other eonomio questions. New Hehrides committee and and Polar Committee. Mr Savage will represent New Zealand. Shipping committee : Mr Walter Nash, chairman. Mr Jordan will also represent New Zealand, the terms of referenee are the Imperial shipping policy and the Imperial Shipping ComVmittee's work.
