VICE-REGAL. The Governor-General, Lord. Galway, accompanied by Captain E. StuartFrench, A.D.C., arri.ved in Napier last evening en route to Auckland. His Excellency attended the meeting of the Hawke's Bay Hunt to-day at Otane, and leaves to-morrow for Auckland,where he is taking up residence for some weeks, The Eev. D. J, A. Shaw left Hastings this morning on a short yisit to Wellington. Mre. J. Olsen and son left Hastings this morning by car for a holi.day .visit to R-otorug? and Whakatane. K; Eobert Harding and her daughter, Derice, of Raukawa, Hastings, left this morniiig for Wellington. Mrs. E. M. Hay-Chapman, who has been visit.ing Christchurch, left by the Maunganui on Tuesday on an extended visit to Brisbane. Mrs Barton Hobbs, Charlotte Oreacent, Hastings, has returned from three weeks' holiday spent with hqr son-iin-law and daughter, Mr and Mrs G. O. Bayley, Te Awamutu, Mr. W. T. Foster was re-elected last evening as the Napier Secondary Education Board representative on the Art Gallery and Museum management committee. Mr. Foster Brook left Hastings this1 -morning for Wellington en xoute .to the Old Country. He was accompanied by Mrs. Foster Brook as far as Wellington. Mr. H. A. Dobson, who has been visiting Christchurch for the unveiling of the memorial to his brother, the late Sir Arthur W. Dobson, at Arthur's - Pass, has been staying for a few days with his nephew, Mr. C. L. Dobson, Tomoana, before his return to Gisborne, Mr. ^ Dinwiddie was nnanimously re-elected chairman of the Napier Secondary Education Board at the meeting held last night. Mr. Dinwiddie has filled the. post for several years. "Mr, Dinwiddie has served us very well and truly," said Mr, J. H, Edmun.dson in proposing the re-election. "If he well consent .to take the position for another year WA sbaU ajl be. very pleaee.d- ' '- The appointment is announce.d of Mr Martin Eocke O'Shea, for .the past 14 years registrar of Auckland "University CoUege, to tbe position of general secretary of the New Zealand Manufacturers' Federation, He succeeds Mr A. E. Mander and will have his heactquarters at Wellington, where he wfll take over his new d.uties on J une 21, Before going to the war Mr O'Shea had been on the etaff of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand. In that service be handled for some years — interrupted by his war J service— the whole of the company 's land and financial business, and also had control of all its legal work, and its dealings with the Lands and Survey Department. He is a brother of Mr John O'Shea, Wellington city solicitor, and of Mr A. B. O'Shea, Dominion seeretary of the New Zealand Farmers' Union,
