CLAY-BIRD SHOOTING
Hawke's Bay Central Gun Club Ideal shooting conditions prevailed on Saturday, when the Hawke's Bay Central Gun Club held its monthly shoot at the grounds at Longlands. A good mugter of shooters competed in the matehes, ineluding a number from (he Craggy Range Rifle Club, and it is to be hoped that their visits to the shoots will be frequent. The most important event of the day Avas a 20-bird match shot off for trophies presented by Mrs. D. M. Campbell. This match, wliich ineluded single and double rises, resulted as follows: — • OPEN MATCH. ' J. Mills (19)— 11111111111111111110—19 B. Franklyn (17) — 01111111211111011111—18 NOYICES' MATCH. : I. R. Gordon (11; — 11111111111100111110—17 R. Angus (11) — 11111111110100101101—15 A very high standard of shooting was attained by_ Mr. J. Mills, winner of the open trophy match, who shot 19 birds out of a possible 20, all birds being broken on the first barrel. Prize-winners in ihe sweepstake
matehes were H, Howlett, J. Mills, B. Cliambers and D. M. Campbell. Other shooters competing ineluded S. Morrin, M. S. C. Gordon, R. R. Buddo, D. van Aseh, M. Field, G. van Asch, and I. Field. During the afternoon all present much enjoyed the afternoon tea provided by Mrs. D. M. Campbell,
