STANLEY McKAY'S GAIETIES

MUNICIPAL THEATRE, TO-NICHT. Mr Stanley McKay's "Gaieties" Vaudeville and Review Co., wliich visits Hastings each year, needs no introducticm to local theatregoers. The quality of his shows is well known, and each yea,r ho manages to go one better, so to-night's patrons can rest assured of an entertainment of. a very high standard. The opening production of the season is "Soine Show," a eparkling and snappy revue which has delighted crowded- houses in Australia and niore recently in Christchurch, Wellington and Auckland. The Gaieties provide' a show to suit varied tastes, there being included in the prograinme music, humour, dance ensembles, acrobatic turns and many novelties. Joe Lawman, the popular Australian whistling and singing comedian, is the central figure of the show, but also outstanding is Stella Lamond, the Personality Girl, whose character sketches, grave and gay are most artistic. The Hilo Duo — Geo. and Mehi Grieg — in an instrumental and vocal act, with piano accordian and saxophone, invariably persuade their audiences to join lustily in popular choruses. Other excellent speciality acts are contributed by the Warren Bros., comedy tumblers ; Elvy Ferguson, charming solo violinist; Heather Wright, dainty contortionist and eccentric dancer; Cy. Pier, ukulele expert; Harry Hemmingj baritone; Elton Black, Scottish comedian ; Kath Howard, English revue artlst ; Geo. Corelli, character actor ; and the Seven Flying Martinettis, in the most thrilling and spectacular act ever brought to New Zealand. A beauty ballet, May Brooke's orchestra, magnificent dressing and the latest in staging are features of the revues to be staged during the season. Reserves are at Fail's. New revues are to be staged each night and there is to be a matinea on Saturday afternoon.
