CLUB NOTES

"KENAU."

Oubs, I wonder if you have ever heard a stranger say, "Are any of you Scouts?" If sd, don't forget that you are a small Scout, and might be very useful. Once a lady friend was in difiicultios as she had arranged to incet some friends at a certain time and place, and long after the time they had not appeared. She knew the number of the house and the street where they mosl likely were; but if she left her post it might mean that she would mdss them altogether, as they might come from another direetion. While wondetAng what to do she saw a group of boys nearby, so she began to thiuk, "Are auy of them Scouts?" So she asked them, and oue lad replied, pointing with his finger, "That boy there is." So tho lady asked hini to take her message. The boy w#as delighted to be on duty and felt very dmportanl. He found the street and the house, then knoelced on the door and delivered his message. On being told that they had quite forgotten the time he ran naek and lold the lady, and my word, she was grateful. So cubs, you see how usefui you might be no matter where you are. Always s'.cep your eyes open and be ready

to help olhers. You never know when you might be wanted. Sunday the ninth was Mother's Day, so I hope you all remembered to do soeie specwl little honour to voui mother. She has done a lot for you--fed, clotl-ed. washed and sewed (taany patches and buttons, I expeet) for you,, eveu wheu she's been feeling tired. Try to do your little bit for her in return.
