MISTAKEN IDEA

Australian Pilot and Tasman Air Race A mistaken impression of the offer made last year by a Napier business man of £500 as the nueleus of a prizemoney fund for a trans-Tasman airrace ending at Napier has been formed by an Australian flyer. In .. letter to the Napier Thirty Thousand Club he states that. he is perfectly willing to make a flight for the £500 offered, and will land at Napier. " The flyer, Mr. T. S. de Lacy, states in his letter that he is an Aucklandtrained pilot, and, although a reply to a former letter explained the position and pointed out that the offer had lapsed^ because of Government refusal to sanction the flight, he has again written wanting to know 1 ' more about tho £50Q."
